United World Schools – Director’s Cut

Our client, United World Schools, asked us to create a 2-3 minute film to screen at their annual fundraiser in 2019 during COVID. Co-Directors Kate Blewett and Min Reid had to create something special to speak volumes to their audience during difficult global times.

With this in mind, and inspired by ‘The Secret Life of Five Year Olds’, Min Reid created a treatment asking two five year old children in England questions that were also put to two five year olds in Cambodia… letting them speak for themselves…

Meet Komrey, Somrey, Jon and Rose. Although they may be from opposite sides of the globe, they’re not all that different…

Thanks to this film, and the generosity of UWS supporters, UWS had a record breaking fundraising success directly resulting in being able to start the building a school in Komrey and Somrey’s rural village in Cambodia. They are now living their dream… they are going to school and building a better life through education.
